Kent D.B. Sinclair is an experienced attorney, arbitrator, and cybersecurity professional with a deep understanding of the legal and technical aspects of privacy, information protection and cybersecurity. He received his law degree from the Yale Law School and is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) through the International Association of Privacy Professionals. Kent Serves as Co-Chair of the Boston Bar Association’s (BBA) Solo & Small Firm Forum and previously chaired its Privacy Law Committee. He serves as an arbitrator on the commercial disputes panel of the American Arbitration Association (AAA). In September 2016, Kent received the Shining Star Award from the Victim Rights Law Center recognizing his exemplary dedication to pro bono representation of the victims of sexual assault and rape.
As a partner at an international law firm, Kent litigated, arbitrated and advised clients on a broad range of commercial matters, including trade secret protection, data privacy, employment, class action lawsuits and cross-border business disputes. Many of his clients were technology companies and non-U.S. based companies.
More recently, as the Managing Director of the Boston Office for a leading global cybersecurity consulting firm, Kent provided strategic and technical guidance to companies and their attorneys on data security and privacy issues. He led the technical teams responding to numerous significant data breaches. He also oversaw engagements involving comprehensive security risk assessments and worked on a variety of digital forensic investigations in support of lawsuits and internal investigations.
Kent established Sinclair Law LLC in order to meet the growing needs of middle market enterprises and emerging companies concerning the increasingly critical issues of privacy, information protection and cybersecurity, as well as a broad range of business disputes and employment matters, by consistently providing high-quality, responsive, and cost-effective legal services.
